Eloi Creus is a Hellenist and a tenure-track professor of Greek at the University of València. He enjoys writing verse, both his own as well as that of other poets—especially the latter. From classical literature he has translated authors such as Sappho, Aristophanes, Plato and Menander, but he has also brought into Catalan contemporary poets such as Sandro Penna, Primo Levi and Pier Paolo Pasolini. He has received several translation awards, including the Premi Vidal Alcover, the Premi Jordi Domènech de traducció de poesia, and the Premi Cavall Verd.
